So last weekend I ordered the Estee Lauder goody bag, ‘The Make Up Artist Collection’, full of products altogether worth over £290, and I got it all for £54. Continue reading “All for £54, ‘The Make Up Artist Collection’”
As it’s the end of the month I think I will share with you what I’ve been loving this October.
1) Gossip Girl
For me I really needed something to watch that I wasn’t going to get addicted to and have a need to watch in every spare moment. Since I’ve already seen every Gossip Girl episode at least once it was a good choice when I felt like I needed to watch TV without being too invested. I could watch half an episode before I needed to go out, or spend a whole day watching episode after episode; this felt great on my first day off in 6 weeks. It’s nice to have a programme to dip in and out of. When you’re watching something new it gets hard to watch regularly and a few weeks go by, and by the time you get to finally watch the next one you’ve forgotten what the series is even about.
2) River Island Jacket
I got this jacket a couple of years ago as a present. I have had to hem the sleeves a couple of times but I have definitely had use out of it. What I love about it, is that it is quite light so when the autumnal weather is ever changing and unpredictable I can have a jacket without sweltering when the sun peeps through the clouds. It works well over a thin t-shirt or dress, as well as over jumpers when the weather is becoming colder but not quite cold enough for my winter wardrobe.
3) Estee´ Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Powder in Desert Beige
This powder has been excellent for me. I only discovered it a couple of months ago but it is already a firm favourite. It is great because on days where I feel my skin needs to breathe I can wear it on its own either by applying with a sponge which gives good coverage, or using a brush giving a lighter but still effective look. It evens out my skin tone and gets rid of any unwanted shine. I also use it over my liquid foundation to give a nice finish, and again eliminate shine.
4) Estee´ Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Plum Couture
This colour has become a staple for me, particularly as we came to the end of the month. On some skin tones this colour will look very gothic, which is great if that’s what you are going for. On me it was dark enough to have that darker look without being overbearing. I often wore without eye makeup to make my lips stand out, occasionally at college I would combine with a smoky eye making the look darker and more mysterious.
5) Batiste Dry Shampoo with heavenly volume
This product truly has been a lifesaver for me this month. I have been a fan of dry shampoo for many years, however this month I definitely became more attached. Training to be a professional dancer has its perks, but my hair isn’t always a fan. After a pretty sweaty class or after my hair has been scraped back this product can revitalise my hair so I don’t look like a drowned rat when entering my next class. Since I have very fine and flat hair the added boost of volume did me wonders. The added volume will add a slightly stiffer feel to your hair so personally I would suggest the original dry shampoo for everyday use if like me you prefer your hair having a soft texture. However for when you want your hair looking fuller without a hairdryer this is a great product.
That’s it, my first favourite things post. I wonder what next month will include. Probably something to keep me warm as we head into Winter.
